Leadership you can trust...a MidAmerica tradition since 1960.
Established in 1960, MidAmerica is owned and operated by a self-sustaining public trust coordinated by a Board of Trustees that functions much like a corporate board of directors.
Meetings of the Trustees are held bi-monthly to review all park operations and planning.
Lifetime trustees include R. Dobie Langenkamp, an attorney and owner of a petroleum investments firm, Robert R. "Rob" Gilbert, III, Vice-Chairman / COO of F&M Bank in Tulsa, and David R. Stewart, who is also the park's new Administrator. Prior to being selected by Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin in late November 2012, Stewart served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cherokee Nation Businesses and the parent / holding company of the Cherokee Nation, and, more recently, as President of Sunbelt Fire Protection. A Certified Public Accountant, Stewart earned both his bachelor's degree and master's degree from Oklahoma State University.
Governor Fallin also appointed Jonna Kirschner as the director of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce (ODOC). She will also serve as another member of MidAmerica's board. Kirschner, formerly the deputy director of the agency, replaces Dave Lopez, who resigned as ODOC director but remains as secretary of commerce in the governor's cabinet.
Daily operations for the park are managed by a full-time staff of professionals with the ability to respond quickly to the needs of any new or existing business located within the park.
Services provided by our 25-person staff cover administration, water/wastewater operations and maintenance, marketing and planning for future growth. The staff also briefs the park's Plant Managers Association at our lodge on industry topics that range from recent environment legislation to international exporting practices.
Park revenues generated by land sales, leases and water sales enable the trust to be self-sustaining; the trust does not rely on state or federal tax dollars for support.
