MidAmerica Enterprise Center designed to let small business think big.
Sometimes great ideas begin in the smallest of places. That's the basic idea of an Enterprise Center: a place where entrepreneurial spirit can be nurtured to develop a business that creates "home grown" jobs. And, that is the reason that MidAmerica has its very own Enterprise Center.
Officially, it is called the MidAmerica Innovation & Incubation Enterprise Center or simply as the MidAmerica Enterprise Center or Enterprise Center. Yet, whatever you call it, it is a real opportunity to see good ideas become real businesses.
The 11,000 square-foot MidAmerica Enterprise Center was constructed as an addition to the existing OSU-Okmulgee/MidAmerica facility that was built by MidAmerica as a continuing workforce development training operation for advanced manufacturing applications.

| A 1,500 square foot Enterprise Center space waits for a new business. |
The Enterprise Center has space for four businesses. Each space has an office with a private door and window onto a lab or shop area. Two spaces have 12-foot ceilings; two have 22-foot ceilings. All four spaces feature overhead doors as well as traditional entryways. For a floor plan of the facility, click here. For measurements of the Enterprise Center, click here.
Operations at the Enterprise Center will be directed by a dedicated full-time manager to monitor progress of the new businesses and consult on solutions that lead to success. Support services provided to Enterprise Center firms include:
- Mentoring from other entrepreneurs and business owners
- Consultation with accounting / tax / legal specialists
- Strategic planning and marketing support
- Access to OSU-Okmulgee faculty for technical guidance
- Shared reception, office equipment, conference rooms, distance learning and teleconferencing capabilities and other services
- Access to Enterprise Center Advisory Committee comprised of business leaders
According to the operational design plan for the Enterprise Center, after an Enterprise Center company has finalized the development of its product or technology, the new business will relocate operations at MidAmerica to grow and create high-paying jobs for area residents.
The ideal candidate for the Enterprise Center is a business involved in research and development, assembly and light manufacturing, advanced technology, and selected services such as information technologies, aerospace, electronics, materials, telecommunications, medical devices and instruments. Special preference will be given to high-tech, high-wage start-up candidate businesses that have both the foundation and infrastructure to be successful in rural Oklahoma.
